NZ Resuscitation Council (NZRC) - CORE Advanced

NZRC CORE Advanced is designed for dental and health professionals who are expected to lead or manage resuscitation events within their clinical practice.

This course is suitable for experienced:

Registered Nurses
Anaesthetic Technicians
General Practitioners (GPs)
Dentists providing sedation
Paramedics
Registrars

Course Overview

CORE Advanced is an 8-hour practical course that concludes with a written multiple-choice assessment. Participants are strongly encouraged to read the prescribed reference text before attending.

The course covers:

Advanced practical resuscitation skills
Management of patient collapse through simulated scenarios
Initial assessment and management of trauma
Recognition and management of medical emergencies
Anaphylaxis management, including the use of adrenaline by authorised practitioners
Awareness of intraosseous (IO) access, ECG interpretation, manual defibrillation, and waveform capnography, where relevant to the participant's scope of practice
Written multiple-choice assessment

All participants are required to read NZRC Resuscitation – A Guide for Advanced Responders before attending the course.

Eligibility

New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) CORE courses are available only to individuals who hold a recognised clinical qualification.
