NZ Resuscitation Council (NZRC) - CORE Advanced

CORE Advanced is for Dental and Health Professionals that may be expected to manage a resuscitation event. Professionals this may represent are experienced Nurses, Anaesthetic Technicians, General Practitioners, Dentists providing sedation, Paramedics, and Registrars.

The practical session is a full day (8hrs) finishing with a written assessment. Reading the reference book is strongly recommended.

  • Practical skills of resuscitation
  • Scenarios for the management of collapse
  • Initial approach to trauma
  • Medical emergencies
  • Written assessment comprising of multi-choice questions
  • Awareness of intra osseous access, ECGs and manual defibrillation, wave form capnography (as required).
  • Anaphylaxis - Use of Adrenaline for those authorised to administer.

Required pre-reading: “Resuscitation – A Guide for Advanced Rescuers” available from nzrc.org.nz/resources.

New Zealand Resuscitation Council courses can only be attended by individuals with a clinical qualification. If you are unsure which CORE course is relevant to you, please consult the New Zealand Resuscitation Council Responder Training Framework here.

Please note: NZRC have regulations around minimum and maximum student numbers in order to run these courses. If the course numbers are below minimum compliance regulations, we will contact you ahead of time to find a solution.
