New Zealand First Aid, Foundation First Aid or Refresher - Blended

Students complete the online learning before the course starts then attend the practical class in person. Please allow at least 4 hours to complete this online any time before the course starts.
Register for the Foundation First Aid (previously Workplace) option to cover the topics in unit standards 6402 and 6401. Register for the New Zealand First Aid (previously Comprehensive) option to add the extra unit standard 6400. You can also join the class to refresh your current New Zealand and Foundation First Aid Certificate.
New Zealand First Aid - Blended
Previously known as Comprehensive Workplace - 4 hours online + full day practical
This course is the next step up from a Foundation First Aid course. It covers the Foundation First Aid topics in unit standards 6402 and 6401 and the extra unit standard 6400 which is needed to complete the New Zealand First Aid qualification. The following unit standards can be achieved on successful completion of the full course:
6402 - Provide basic life support (Level 1, Credits 1)
- Scene Management
- Primary Survey
- CPR - Adult, Child, Infant
- AED use
- Choking - Adult, Child, Infant
6401 - Provide first aid (Level 2, Credits 1)
- Bleeding & Shock
- Burns
- Trauma (Injury)
- Fractures, sprains & dislocations
- Poisoning
- Medical Conditions (Asthma, Heart attack, Diabetes, Stroke, Seizures)
- Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis)
6400 - Manage first aid in an emergency (Level 2, Credits 2)
- Major wounds & burns
- Head injuries
- Severe allergic reactions/Anaphylaxis
- Hyper- & Hypothermia (Heat & Cold emergencies)
- Multiple casualty management
Foundation First Aid - Blended
Previously known as Workplace First Aid - 4 hours online + 4.5 hours practical
Complete the online component, then join the class for the morning session to complete the Foundation First Aid Certificate. Learn to assess the scene and casualty for life-threatening conditions and provide the necessary first aid. You will also gain knowledge of common first aid conditions and how to respond to them. It is a legislative requirement for first aid in the workplace. When you complete this course successfully you will gain a Foundation First Aid certificate valid for 2 years and NZQA unit standards 6402 & 6401.
New Zealand First Aid Refresher - Blended
4 hours online + 3.5 hours practical
If your Comprehensive Workplace or New Zealand First Aid certificate is due for renewal you can complete the online learning module then join the first 3 hours of the class to renew your existing certificate. This option is for people who have a Comprehensive Workplace or New Zealand First Aid Certificate that is current or has not expired before the course start date. Please check your certificate expiry date before registering and be ready to upload a copy when you register, email it before the course or bring it to the session.
Foundation First Aid Refresher - Blended
4 hours online + 3.5 hours practical
