Workplace First Aid - Full day

In this course you will learn to assess the scene and casualty for life-threatening conditions and provide the necessary first aid. You will also gain knowledge of common first aid conditions and how to respond to them. It is a legislative requirement for first aid in the workplace. When you complete this course successfully you will gain a Workplace First Aid certificate (NZQA 6402,6401) valid for 2 years.

Content and topics covered in this course:

6402 - Provide basic life support (Level 1, Credits 1)

Scene Management
Primary Survey
CPR - Adult, Child, Infant
AED use
Choking - Adult, Child, Infant

6401 - Provide first aid (Level 2, Credits 1)

Bleeding & Shock
Burns
Trauma (Injury)
Fractures, sprains & dislocations
Poisoning
Medical Conditions (Asthma, Heart attack, Diabetes, Stroke, Seizures)
Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis)

Workplace First Aid Refresher

If your Workplace First Aid certificate is due for renewal you can join this course to renew your existing certificate. This option is for people who have a Workplace First Aid Certificate that is current or expired no more than 3 months before the course start date. Please check your certificate expiry date before registering and be ready to upload a copy when you register, email it before the course or bring it to the session.

Comprehensive Workplace First Aid Refresher

If your Comprehensive Workplace First Aid certificate is due for renewal you can join the first day of the course to renew your existing certificate. This option is for people who have a Comprehensive Workplace First Aid Certificate that is current or expired no more than 3 months before the course start date. Please check your certificate expiry date before registering and be ready to upload a copy when you register, email it before the course or bring it to the session.

Basic First Aid/CPR

Learn the essential skills in our 3.5 hour Basic First Aid course. You will learn to deal with life-threatening emergencies and cover the topics of NZQA unit standard 6402:

Scene Management
Primary Survey
CPR - Adult, Child, Infant
AED use
Choking - Adult, Child, Infant

On successfully completing this course you will be issued the unit standard and a Basic First Aid Certificate valid for 2 years. Or, simply complete the course without the unit standard assessment to refresh your knowledge.less
